OBJECTIVES AND RATIONALE


 

I love flying.  I love computers.  And about 7 or 8 years ago, I started playing around with Microsoft's Flight Simulator.  It was a neat computer program, and I enjoyed the challenge of trying to fly and land a plane via a computer.  And while I'm not medically qualified to fly a real plane, I enjoyed how the revisions to the Flight Simulator program kept getting more and more realistic.

In 2002, I began to invest in some specialized computer peripherals designed specifically to enhance flight simulator realism.  They took my computerized flights to greater levels of enjoyment.  But, I always wanted more.

In late 2003, my partner and I became aware of a 727 Cockpit Procedures Trainer that was at a local university, and they were looking to dispose of it.  We made the short trip to Minnesota, looked it over, and determined that it could be quite possible to disassemble and transport the trainer to our home in Wisconsin for (hopefully) a good interface into MS Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight.
